good food
anyway, sun's dinner was at the soup restaurant with dear's family. the dish that comes to mind whenever one mentions the soup restaurant is the samsui chicken. it's their signature dish. out of ten, i give it eight stars, or woks, or spoons, or... whatever. basically, it's just steamed chicken. what makes it special is the sauce. i love it. i could finish an entire bowl of rice with just that sauce. i'm not very sure what the ingredients for the sauce are but i guess it's comprised mainly of ginger and garlic. mum actually tried to make the mixture herself after i brought her to the soup restaurant earlier this month, on her birthday. well, i say she almost got it. just a little too much ginger. too hot, mum.
*smug* finally, the long waited day has come. pay day! ok, shall end here (abruptly). dinner time!

dinner @ lavender food centre

the very famous wanton noodle stall
up next, fried oyster. well, this one tasted ordinary but was nice as well. dear dislike the taste of oyster so i had to dig out all the oyster and finish them. it cost five dollars. the price was on the high side but considering the its prime location as well as the food was served, it was still acceptable.

fried oyster
rating: 6/10
i also had a jumbo fish cake which cost a dollar. dear doesn't like fish cakes so i had it myself. after dinner, we bought back chicken satay as well as desserts (chengdol and grass jelly).
on the whole, we had a very sumptuous dinner. hope you have had a good dinner as well.
bye bye.
check it out!
ok, now for the stunner.
*laughter* a total makeover isn't it? ok, time to go. have a good day. bye bye.
straighten it out
i need to build up my physique and my health. like most of us, i have been bogged down by work so there is little or no time to work out. work is punishing the body and the only way the body can retaliate is to give physical signs before it breaks down. good health, couple with regular exercises lead to good physique.
sadly, i am reaching the third decade of my life. it is very easy for a guy to put on weight in the thirties. know what? whenever i change brief, i can hardly make out where my manhood is. and whenever i pee, it's harder and harder to grab the hose. it's a little exaggerated but sooner or later, i will have big stomach reminiscent of mr incredible (at one point, he was real fat).
i am going to start an exercise regime. i mean it and i will do it and stick to it.
*time check* got to run already. got an appointment at one-thirty.
ciao. be back later.
just another day
sometimes, i question myself as to why do so much when the real problem is not really about time management. it's more of people management. if you know what i mean.

crossroads
ok. this morning when i got to office, i was surprised to find eo, yc & syl outside the main entrance. the door was locked. jy wasn't able to turn for work so no one except for cg & wl have the keys. we waited. while waiting, an idea hit me. i did this:
pitch black
doesn't make any sense to you? haha.. it's actually a passage way to an exit.
i have finally completed a component for one of my project. Here is an image of the application:

it is not very difficult but i took about four hours to get it right. i spent much of the time to solve the issue between javascript and php. problem area: [window.open('cost_cal_result.php?cRate=' + cRate + '&savings=' + savings + '&percentage=' + percentage + '&eRate=' + eRate,'','width=705,height=300');]. i may not be as good a programmer as some of you but i am just glad it's completed and i'm back on schedule for this project.
Just updated myself with the latest news in the automotive arena: kia is going to develop a sport range for their car lineup. it's called the XR and it's going to be turbocharged and supercharged. according to source, turbocharged models are for the european market whereas the supercharged models will serve the US market.
image taken from autocar
in my opinion, it looks like a ford focus and lexus is250 combined. it does have an european look and it will definitely bring in sales for kia. as far as i know, kia do not have a sports line of cars. well, they do have concept cars which look very futuristic and sporty. my guess it that it will share the same engine as the hyundai coupe a.k.a tuscani a.k.a average man's sports car. no offence to those who drive a hyundai coupe. i just feel hyundai would be better off making sedans and hatchbacks and commercial vehicles. oh, and not forgetting standalone dvd recordables. diversification sometimes isn't a good idea. it may tarnish the brand's image.
well, every matured car manufacturer has a sports lineup of cars. two of the very successful ones and very popular among buyers here, are the subaru wrx & mitsubishi evolution. recently, i have seen more and more suzuki swift sports plying our roads. see, people want fast cars. it's easy for the manufacturers to produce a model, stick a badge labelled 'sports' and introduce it to the market. it is a trend today. car manufacturers are zeroing in to the youth market, targetting those who are in their thirties and have the spending power.
you may ask, would i go with the trend?
no. singapore tax heavily on cars. to own a car means you have incurred a debt already. to own an luxury car is even worst. but of course, you can argue that one spend within their own limits. for me, i go for solutions which are practical and economical. i would get a viva! perodua boleh! haha..
all right, enough of nonsense. shall sleep now. goodbye.

music
i bought the md player for about three hundred and fifty singapore dollars, including ten pieces of md discs. got it from uncle alan who worked as a salesperson. last year, i decided to sell away my md player. i auctioned it on ebay and got an american buyer. later, i spent about fifty dollars on air freight to send the package over. unfortunately, i never got my money from the deal. up till now, i don't even know the fate of the md player. the freight package i bought didn't include gaurantee for any lost of goods. so, i can only blame myself for not being careful. considering the bad deal to bad luck makes me feel better though.
well, fast forward to today, i have my zen stone to accompany me to and from work. although it does not have a built-in fm receiver, i am satisfied with listening to about two hours of music everyday or twenty songs a day. that is equivalent to not having to repeat a track for a month! of course, i won't get the latest traffic updates, the laughters of f.d and g.o on class ninety five as well as the lastest news bulletins. my solution? to alternate the use of zen stone and my one-year-old nokia sixty-two eighty because the phone has built-in fm receiver.
i would like to say a big thank you to my dear. for bestowing the cutie zen stone to me. you are right, i need to add zest to my lifestyle. having a music player is a good start. lol. say, what's next to have? perhaps, a viva? by the way, heard that the viva will be reaching our shore next march.
alright folks, that's all i have for now. got to run now.
thanks for reading.

bitter sweet weekend
simply put, if you are unemployed or a lazy bum, then i guess you will definitely like attending those time-wasting-for-nothing exercises. time is precious man. it creeps up to you and bite you, making you feel queasy and nervy.
SA was pissed when i could not deliver the site on time. i admitted it was my mistake. blame it on my incapability or whatever. nothing is out and that's the fact. that's it. i showed you whatever i have done. i do not have to entertain you. you don't like the product, get someone else to do it for you then. i suggest you follow JH's style of work. it's systematic. there is no priority given. it's purely based on a first-come-first-serve basis. think about it, you need me. period.
enough ranting over work. felt better after letting the gas out. recently, i got myself a mp3 player. it's a creative zen stone.

it's a gift from dear. bought on saturday a.k.a mob(bing) day. tried it out briefly on the day of purchase. in fact, i wanted to bring it to camp but didn't get to use it. anyway, it's a creative and i didn't trust portable digital players from creative since the nomad days. however, i decided to give it a chance, considering its small price.
it sounds pretty good. the buds are in my ears as i blog. built quality is better than, say a muvo? it's a minimalist so no expectation here. but, to my horror, it died the next day! it could not be switched on and it would not charge. oh well, if anyone tells me there's nothing wrong with their creative players, i take it with a pinch of salt. it's really disappointing. even their patented once the king of pc sound cards (soundblaster) are sucky as well. i did everything i could, from firmware upgrade to getting online sources on troubleshooting solutions, nothing could get it to blink a light.
i had no choice but to do an exchange. got the replacement earlier after work. it works fine now. i keep my fingers crossed.
saturday is also meaningful on the other hand. i have a new ring! it's a couple ring and dear has the other half.

Aren't they lovely? i love it, every square inch of it. our love has gone through so many ups and downs and this will mark another chapter forward. then what about our first ring (you may ask)? well, i will polish it to mirror shine and wear it! most probably i will wear it to attend events like wedding dinners.
to sum up, i had a bitter sweet weekend but i hope you have had a good one though. hope my next weekend is better. *yawn* the z-monster has captured me already.
thanks for reading. bye bye.

Activated!
at work, i feel i am given more responsibilities. the addition is to do technical support. inevitably, pressure builds up due to the increased work load. i call it 'positive stress'. i know if i perform well, my effor will be recognized. that equates to promotion, which equates to an increase in salary.
*slap* "wake up dude!" ok, all along i knew it is only wishful thinking. with the current management, it is really hard to move up the ladder. not impossible but achieveable, abeit at a very slow pace. seniority deals the game. two thousands a month after the first year? say, i thought we have a customer service team?
being in command of everything is good feeling. i fully agree. it is like driving a porsche 911 at two hundred miles an hour on autobhan. have they implemented the suggested speed limit of one hundred and thirty miles an hour yet? i do not know if i got the fact right, but i sure want to go on a holiday to Germany some day.
oh, do you know that the successor to perodua kelisa has already been launched? it is called the Viva. yeah, the name sounds corny. ok, nomenclature aside, it looks good to the eye. at least much much better than kelisa.

Why am i mentioning about a car which most singaporeans dislike? well, i am a practically-minded person. as long as the car can get me from point A to point B, i am happy already. plus, it is very economical to own and very likely you won't see much of it running around on our roads. under-powered? no worries! with an improved EFI engine in stock, modding it is easier than what you think. i like its design. in my opinion, it looks better than the Mira (Daihatsu), the base model. dear likes Viva too. it is enough for us to go dating around singapore with more spare cash for other enjoyment. haha..
almost two in the morning already, time to sleep. thank you for dropping by. till then, good night.
signed off.

when disaster strikes
two accidents happened today. one in the morning along commonwealth road and the other happened at night along yio chu kang road. three cars and a truck were involved in those accidents. two of the cars were badly damaged. the nissan latio struck the lamp post and the alfa romeo 159 hit the back of the truck causing its bonnet to pop upwards.
drove over to ah li's place to pick up some stuff (orange cloth and some zip locks) and saw the alfa and the truck which were involved in the YCK accident. well, i nearly got myself into an accident.. i cut three lanes to make an u-turn. bravo! had i not been luckier, the on-coming toyota wish would have banged onto me head on. of course, i got the usual honking and flashing lights from the driver, plus some vulgarities. sorry, dude. this could be prevented had i not left my handphone at ah li's place. sorry, dear.
today's lesson: never drive when u are dead tired!
i'm just glad that both dear and me got home safe and sound.
tri-m is due tomorrow. i don't think i'm able to meet the deadline. KK and SA won't be happy. i won't be happy with them either. y? because it's simply impossible to complete six pages in a day! all they care is to meet deadlines and forget about qualities. my motto is to do it once and do it well.
stop. am i jeopardizing my job with this attitude? i don't know. but i do know that i have a responsibility to keep my job..
be safe and follow the rules to avoid accidents. drive safely.

second post
if you have been laughing at my blog title, reckoning that i'm one of them in the 'lame' community, i guess you are probably right. haha.. anyway, blog is a new media where one can market not only products/services but also individual as well. right, self-introductory: i'm like everyone else, hoping to be asset-rich, cash-rich and most importantly, cleared from debts.. and like everyone else, achieving goals thru hard work and work like mad dogs with incurable diseases. that's life.
had a much needed off today. tomorrow is another hectic day. more projects coming up and those on hand are almost due. these are my projects:
- demo.bludot.net/JordanTelecom/index.html
- swift maid (in progress)
- tech m (in progress)
guess it's already late, time to sleep. glad you drop by.
ciao.
first post
wassup? i skipped work today. y? *grin* it's top secret. Guess i'm still bad at mulit-tasking.. back to TV!
ciao!
