dinner @ lavender food centre

man, wanton mee never tasted so nice before. in fact, it's the best, in my opinion. it really lived up to it's name. it's from the very popular kok kee wanton noodle. y? first of all, the noodle didn't taste floury at all. secondly, the noodle wasn't rubbery to the bite. thirdly, the noodle was soaked in a very unforgettable gravy. for a wanton mee to taste good, the most important component is the noodle. after seeing how the stall holder cooked the noodle, i'm convinced that a tasty noodle very much depends on how well it's being prepared and cooked. well, i shan't go into details on the cooking of noodle. the next component that constitutes to a good wanton mee is the char siew. surprisingly, the char siew served looked clean and dry. a total contrast to the usually oily and chared char siew. plus, the green vegetables didn't have a trace of bitterness. it's well prepared and well served. good job!
i'm sure most of the people have already tried the wanton mee from kok kee. this was my second visit to the stall by the way. i highly recommend it to everyone.

up next, fried oyster. well, this one tasted ordinary but was nice as well. dear dislike the taste of oyster so i had to dig out all the oyster and finish them. it cost five dollars. the price was on the high side but considering the its prime location as well as the food was served, it was still acceptable.

i also had a jumbo fish cake which cost a dollar. dear doesn't like fish cakes so i had it myself. after dinner, we bought back chicken satay as well as desserts (chengdol and grass jelly).

on the whole, we had a very sumptuous dinner. hope you have had a good dinner as well.

bye bye.
