music

"Music is composed and performed for many purposes, ranging from aesthetic pleasure, religious or ceremonial purposes, or as an entertainment product for the marketplace." - Music, Wikipedia. entertaining best described music for the modern society. i owned a sony md player a few years back. i got a md player because i didn't like the sound produced by mp3 players. every one of those players i tried sounded muffled, lack of bass and more importantly, the mp3 format was not widely accepted about a decade ago. md, on the other hand, was a matured technology and very popular in japan. although not everyone owned a md player back then, i insisted on getting a md player. music sounded perfectly (well, at least it was to me) sweet and crisp with good bass on it. the only drawback was the hassle of doing real time recording from a digital source. i recorded all my songs from a portable cd player (panasonic) which is still able to play my favourite cds. impressive!

i bought the md player for about three hundred and fifty singapore dollars, including ten pieces of md discs. got it from uncle alan who worked as a salesperson. last year, i decided to sell away my md player. i auctioned it on ebay and got an american buyer. later, i spent about fifty dollars on air freight to send the package over. unfortunately, i never got my money from the deal. up till now, i don't even know the fate of the md player. the freight package i bought didn't include gaurantee for any lost of goods. so, i can only blame myself for not being careful. considering the bad deal to bad luck makes me feel better though.

well, fast forward to today, i have my zen stone to accompany me to and from work. although it does not have a built-in fm receiver, i am satisfied with listening to about two hours of music everyday or twenty songs a day. that is equivalent to not having to repeat a track for a month! of course, i won't get the latest traffic updates, the laughters of f.d and g.o on class ninety five as well as the lastest news bulletins. my solution? to alternate the use of zen stone and my one-year-old nokia sixty-two eighty because the phone has built-in fm receiver.

i would like to say a big thank you to my dear. for bestowing the cutie zen stone to me. you are right, i need to add zest to my lifestyle. having a music player is a good start. lol. say, what's next to have? perhaps, a viva? by the way, heard that the viva will be reaching our shore next march.

alright folks, that's all i have for now. got to run now.

thanks for reading.
